Filming and production
This week during spring break we filmed and shot a scene of the video. It was about a hour of actually footage, we went to Ranson WV to a a friend of Owens to let us shoot the video in his house. It was really exciting working at the set of this portion of the project we had three cameras a boom mic two lights and a living room for set. Owen and his friend got into their costumes and got into their Kryme Boiz roles. I was in charge of sound, I handled the boom mic following one of the cameramen around to get the best quaintly sound without get in the way of a shot. There was a lot of props in the set we had many different shirts, an old card collection tin box, and a picture of Larry Bid used in the video. The filming went well, it was about 40 to hour of actual footage and just like the show American Pickers we had a single shot of the seller and his experience selling his merchandise. Overall it was fun and we got a lot of work done, can't wait to film soon.

Production and Social media
In the past week I have been handling the social media aspect of the project, We had a friend Doug create a Twitter account for the character is portraying for our Capstone video. I continued to connect with others who will follow back as well as viewing our message. I also became a admin for the Kryme Boiz Facebook page I realized that they had a great deal of people to follow which includes underground rappers. so we have increased our numbers by 10 followers on Twitter and a spike in likes our Facebook page. We wanted to created a social media aspect to this project for not only to market our project but it creates a almost real vibe to the Kryme Boiz. We post and tweet sayings that the characters would say to create the feel that these people are real. So far its been amazing to work on this project, the website still needs work but we moved on from Dreamweaver and used a program similar to word press, we already purchased a domain name for a year.

How reality TV works
In our project we are working on a Reality Television how based on the show American pickers the character we used are made up by Owen Rye. The show we are filming is "Second Hand Hustlers". One if our readings is "How Reality TV Works." Which gives us an insight of how each knock and cranny works in the industry. Although our film will not be competently reality, its genre certainty is. If one looks at most Reality programs most of them are scripted. They bring the illusion of reality something that we are trying to accomplish with our audience.
We havve already lined the cast and times to shoot our reality TV “Television has been invaded by, and perhaps risks being overrunwith, ordinary folk who have seeped through the screen much as Alicesmushed through the looking glass. . . . The audience is the show, the show is the audience. . . .”

Business Plan: The Business and Art of Producing Reality TV.
In every business idea or in this case a television pitch has to have a business proposal or business model.
In our Capstone we are working with a business plan or proposal that includes:
- Budget
Currently our budget for this project around just a couple of hundreds of dollars ($100-300). Used for:
Costumes, gas, domain name and props.
- Location
We will be filming around Harper's Ferry and other locations to establish the best shots.
- Mission Statement
We want to create a visual reality show that strongly uses humor and satire to our video. We not only want to make our audience laugh but to we want them to relate to the characters Owen Rye created. An "Are those real people" type of response.
- Goals
Our common goal is create an great interpretation of a southern thug american pickers with lots of laughs, not only to receive an A but maybe pitch the idea to network or turn into a Web series.
- Concept
Our concept of Second Hand Hustlers is two characters Unkle Trill and Yung Stunnah go an an adventure to find rare urban clothing. This is an more humor reality television based program.
- Market/Target audience
Our main target market would be around the age of 18-35, who typcally watch programs such as Adult Swim programs, Trailer Park Boys, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Ali G show.
- Competitive analysis
Our main competitor would be shows on Adult Swim such as Children's Hospital, Squidbillies, etc.

Pitch Ideas
Pitch Ideas
In of our resources that we have, Greenlit: Developing Factual/reality TV Ideas from Concept to Pitch. it talks about the concept of a idea for script writing. The author Nicola Lees talks about how she struggle with getting an idea off the ground. She says "You need passion, guts, determination and a thick skin. And it helps if you don't mind rejection." This notion of having a a good attitude and an absence of fear of being shutdown sounds like good advice. Most ideas are just ideas, a starting point to something great. When Owen came up with the idea for an American Pickers parody he had a a lot of different concepts and ideas for it. Now we brainstorm different scenarios and even come up with new ideas for the show along the way. It even took us a while to come up with a name now, " Second Hand Hustlers" Owen Rye's baby will come alive in front of many to see. Greenlight said that in order to capture an audience we need a killer title, a one-paged entitled pitch and a good log line or tagline. We have much faith in this project and will continue to strive for our vision for this reality TV show.

Television Production
·
With working with cameras and lighting one must
often see how far production can go in the eBook Television Production by
Gerald Millerson and Jim Owens, they discuss a wide variety of
techniques and styles for a production team or those interested in the field. One
of the first things they talk about in the book is the size of the production team.
In our capstone group we have about a small size of 5 people working on the
video, a production crew greatly differ in size as the book says. There is not
a “perfect” size for all crews. The right size for a project depends on the
type of project that you are working on and the preferences of the director.
Since Owen is the director of the reality show, he believes the amount people
we have is perfect and I agree. At one end of the scale, there are directors
who initiate the main idea, they write the script and even design the stage and
cast the characters. A crew is there to help the director make his vision
become true, that is the productions teams’ job. There are different roles a production crew
has there is the executive producer,
producer, assistant producer/ associate producer, director, asst. director,
production asst, floor manager/stage assistant, technical director, make-up
artist, costume designer, graphics designer, camera operator, lighting
operator, audio technician and video editor.
